PKF Smith Cooper strengthens Midlands offering with key hires
PKF Smith Cooper has strengthened its Transaction and Advisory Services (TAS) offering across the Midlands, welcoming a new manager and senior executive to the growing team.
James Roberts joins the firm as Transaction and Advisory Services Manager, having started his career in audit at PwC and transitioning to Transaction Advisory at RSM, before most recently undertaking an FP&A role at Greene King.
He brings knowledge across a variety of sectors, including professional services, technology, and healthcare, as well as hands-on experience in the hospitality and leisure industry.
The team also welcomes Brent Kerrison, Transaction and Advisory Services senior executive, who joins from Avant Homes.
Brent trained with Mazars, where he worked with a wide range of clients including social sector organisations, privately owned businesses and PE backed companies. Brent’s latest role provides him with hands-on construction sector experience.
The addition of James and Brent follows a year of expansion for the TAS team at PKF Smith Cooper, after doubling in size as well as introducing a secondment opportunity in the team.
The team’s success was also recognised at the latest Insider East Midlands Dealmakers Awards, where they were shortlisted for Transaction Advisory Services Team of the Year.
James commented: “I’m pleased to be joining PKF Smith Cooper in Birmingham at a time of strong growth within the Transaction and Advisory Services team.
“The firm’s expanding transactions capability and its reputation for delivering high quality financial due diligence and wider advisory support were key factors in my decision, and I’m looking forward to working with clients across a broad range of sectors.”
Brent added: “It’s great to be joining PKF Smith Cooper and become a part of the growing Transaction and Advisory Services team.
“I’m looking forward to bringing experience from both practice and industry to support clients on a wide range of transactions.”
David Nelson, senior partner and head of transaction and advisory services at PKF Smith Cooper commented: “We’re delighted to welcome James and Brent to the team as we continue to strengthen our Transaction and Advisory Services offering across the Midlands.
“Both bring valuable experience and fresh perspectives to the team, which will further enhance the support we provide to clients navigating complex transactions and strategic decisions.
“Their appointments reflect the continued momentum of our TAS team, and I’m confident they will both make a significant contribution as we build on our recent growth and success.”
