Popular TEDx Aston University event returns this weekend
The annual TEDx Aston University event will return this weekend, sponsored by the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce (GBCC), with aims of 'untapping ' our hidden potential after proving resilience during the pandemic.
This year 's 'Untapped ' event is taking place at Millennium Point on 25 September and has been developed to best suit the environment we currently live in, celebrating the strength and the courage shown by everyone during recent time of uncertainty.
Having seen a lot of change this year, with many of us pushed out of our comfort zones and experiencing changing circumstances, most of us have untapped something within ourselves - a hidden potential, a talent, resilience, dedication or even making most of what we have.
Katrina Cooke, chief commercial officer at the GBCC said: “We are honoured to be sponsoring this year 's TEDx Aston University event and to be joining Chamber patron, Aston University, on their journey to 'untapping ' our hidden potential.
“As an organisation designed to champion the region 's best talent and businesses, we are proud to be supporting Aston University 's innovation within our city and are very much looking forward to seeing what this year 's event has to offer. ”
This year, event organisers have gathered a diverse group of international speakers from across the world to talk about their experiences within this theme and cover the untapped side of things ranging from digital identity to mental wellbeing.
Among those speakers is Dr. Edina Harbinja, senior lecturer in Media/Privacy Law at Aston University and Dr. Terri-Karelle Reid, a media services specialist.
In addition to the event 's 'edutainment ', TEDx Aston will provide delicious catering, entertainment from some of the Birmingham 's most popular dancers and singers, as well as networking opportunities with influential businesses and emerging entrepreneurs from Birmingham and across the UK.
When buying tickets, an exclusive discount will be available to GBCC members by using the code UNTAPBCC at checkout.
