Post-COP26 innovation opportunities in focus at webinar
Businesses looking to find out more about what innovation funding will be available from government over the next few years and opportunities arising from COP26 are being invited to attend a webinar hosted by Innovate UK Edge.
The 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP26, was hosted in Glasgow during November, with governments setting out plans to meet ambitious 2030 emissions reductions targets that align with reaching net zero by the middle of the century.
All sectors of the economy will have to reduce their carbon emissions in line with these targets, requiring vast innovation across a range of sectors, from energy and transport to finance and more.
This webinar will outline the Government 's key areas of focus following COP26, how these will affect innovative businesses in the West Midlands and feature insights from local organisations on how they have taken advantage of opportunities arising from the transition to net-zero.
The webinar takes place on Thursday 9 December at 10am.
Topics covered include:
- Outcomes of COP26 - with Will Hargreaves, policy advisor at the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce
- Opportunities available in the move to net-zero and with renewable energy - Martin Freer, director of Birmingham Energy Institute, Tyseley Energy Park
- A case study on an innovative business that broke into the industry
