PR agency celebrates memorable year sponsoring young sports stars
MIH (Make it Happen) Solutions has made it a business priority to give back to the community in whatever way possible, with delivering social value now firmly ingrained into the ethos of the company.
In 2023, alongside a long-standing support deal for motorcycle team Hand Racing, Burton-based MIH branched out into another sporting arena by opting to sponsor Dunstall Cricket Club, impressed by the East Staffordshire outfit’s aspirations to introduce the game to more children – regardless of their age, gender, ethnicity, background or ability.
The partnership has helped to facilitate an increased emphasis on encouraging female participation in the sport, with a women’s team now in the process of being set up at Dunstall.
As well as offering financial backing and PR services to help promote the club in 2024, MIH hopes its support will expediate Dunstall’s goal of increasing junior membership by at least 10 per cent by the end of the summer, through a combination of high-quality training opportunities and school taster sessions, among other initiatives.
MIH Solutions managing director Jo Yeaman said: “Supporting causes that align with our values enables us to learn and grow as a company – it’s certainly been a two-way street.
“Working to improve social value in partnership with organisations like Dunstall Cricket Club is incredibly rewarding and leaves a lasting mark on communities, as well as helping us develop as a business too.
“We’ve been delighted to grow alongside the cricket club and have been equally as happy to watch the uptake in those getting involved in the game.”
Driven by its social value ambitions, MIH is also continuing its collaboration with the Asian Professionals National Alliance (APNA) in 2024 - an NHS network dedicated to supporting and promoting diversity and equal opportunity among South Asian NHS staff, patients and colleagues.
In the recent past, MIH has also offered pro bono PR support to the charity Without Walls and its Thrive project, which assists those with mental health needs and combats loneliness.
