Whistle PR, based at Fort Dunlop, has chosen Smart Works Birmingham as their charity of the year for 2023.

The charity harnesses the power of clothes and confidence to help women in need succeed at interview.

To continue their vital work in the West Midlands, which has some of the poorest areas in the UK, Smart Works relies on the generous support from Birmingham businesses.

Whistle PR kicked off their support by holding a clothing drive, collecting interview appropriate clothing from friends, family and colleagues.

They arrived at the Smart Works centre in Digbeth with bags full of good quality clothing including jackets and shoes for their clients.

As spring approached, three Whistle PR employees were busy raising sponsorship to raise money and training regularly for the Birmingham Half Marathon.

Smart Works were also invited into Fort Dunlop to hold a clothing sale. Along with clothing that had been donated by retailers, Whistle PR added clothing donated from their friends and family.

Corporate Social Responsibility is at the heart of the firm's business and their regular support means that Smart Works Birmingham is on track to support 800 women into work this year.

Jodie Fast from Whistle PR said: “As an all-female team, we're delighted to support Smartworks and all that they do to help unemployed women across the midlands.

“We all know that if you look good, you feel much more confident and that is vital when looking to secure the right job.

“The transformational service offered by Smartworks is inspiring and we are over the moon to support the charity with a programme of donations, events and fundraising this year.”

To support Smart Works Birmingham on International Women's Day, March 2024 get involved in the Smart Works Cycle Challenge.
