Motorserv UK, a premium auto service and car sales centre, has invested upwards of £200,000 in expanding its Solihull premises to meet increased customer demand and facilitate ambitious growth plans.

Through Canmoor, a developer and asset management company specialising in commercial property, Motorserv UK has successfully secured two new separate ten-year leases for two buildings to support its expansion.

Situated on the Monkspath Business Park, the automotive business has secured the unit next door to its existing workshop location, increasing the operational space available from 10.7k sq ft to 17k sq ft overall.

The new premises will provide the vehicles sales team with an indoor photo studio with an automated vehicle turntable, car gallery area, prep and handover bays, management offices, sales offices plus a luxury client lounge and kitchen facility.

By utilising management space more efficiently in the new building, it will allow the introduction of four additional working bays in the existing mechanical workshop and an indoor valeting area for clients ' cars.

The additional space will enable Kamran Saleem, Motorserv UK 's managing director to increase car servicing capacity by up to 37 per cent, in turn generating new jobs for another 7 members of staff, with scope to increase this by a further 10 people in future taking the total headcount to over 40 members of full time staff.

Kamran Saleem said: “We first moved to Monkspath Business Park in 2013 at the very start of our new venture, as a Solihull resident myself I 'm thrilled the business can continue to grow in the location and be an increasing presence in Solihull enterprise. We have been hitting capacity for a while now and growth has been hindered by the lack of office and workshop room. This latest expansion follows on from our 2021 acquisition of a secure vehicle compound near the NEC, where we have room for up to another 50 cars to be safely stored. The whole team is really looking forward to the next stage of our business growth, the challenges and the successes set to come. ”

This latest business expansion for Motorserv UK is a reflection of the growing customer demand for both used car sales and servicing of used vehicles, resulting from global delays after COVID-19 in new car manufacturing.

Kamran Saleem can be seen discussing these issues in the recent ITV 'Tonight ' documentary 'How Much Is Your Car Worth? '.
