President visits leading environmental services firm
Lichfield and Tamworth Chamber of Commerce president Fiona Rouse visited Lichfield-based Legionella and Fire Safe to find out more about the company 's work.
Legionella and Fire Safe are a fast-growing nationwide company covering all aspects of fire-elated work, plumbing and legionella control works.
Business manager Kym Darby Fiona to the team, including Danielle Bayliss, a member of Future Faces, who has recently been promoted to operations director.
Danielle was also shortlisted for the Young Professional of the Year Award at the Chamber 's SLTC Awards.
The firm started in 2017 with members of staff and have since grown to more than 60 employees.
Kym said: “We are nothing without our people. We are a vibrant, and modern thinking company, with a corporate ethos of 'giving back ' to the community.
“Our talented and dedicated teams have driven LFS 's rapid growth by securing long-term contracts with local authorities, housing associations, care home groups, national restaurant chains and many more clients from Aberdeen to Cornwall. ”
Legionella and Fire Safe are currently working on a huge project with Birmingham City Council replacing old style, inefficient water boilers with energy efficient cylinders.
These work by 'learning ' how much water a home uses and only heating that amount.
Residents are able to monitor their usage and costs and can adjust this to fit with their needs.
This is saving residents, on average, £30 a week on their electricity bills.
The boilers are also pre-conformed to work with heat pumps so, as solar energy becomes available, these can be used to feed the energy directly into the boiler and make larger savings for the residents.
Fiona said: “It was a pleasure to meet Kym and her team and understand how the company has grown and its growth plans for the future.
“I was fascinated to hear about the new Smart Energy Boilers, anything that allows people to make savings on their outgoings, as well as being more energy efficient and helps with the movement towards Net Zero. ”
