Project to create 250 digital apprenticeships in Sutton

A project to create new employment opportunities 250 individuals in Sutton Coldfield has been launched.

'The 250 ' is being delivered through Government-funded IT and digital apprenticeship programmes.

The project will create 250 new digital apprenticeship roles within Sutton Coldfield businesses by 31 December 2021 - either as a new hires or by upskilling existing employees.

It is being led by Remit Training, a company that works in partnership clients to develop training and workforce development solutions.

Senior IT and digital consultant Darren Ratcliffe (pictured), who is fronting the campaign, said: “As a member of the Sutton Coldfield Chamber of Commerce, I 'm delighted with the launch of 'The 250 '.

“As a proud Sutton Coldfield resident, I couldn 't think of a better location to launch 'The 250 ', which will allow employers and learners alike to grow and reach their potential. I 'm looking forward to supporting them to do this. ”

With IT and Digital roles being at the forefront of economic recovery, this project will support Sutton Coldfield businesses to add the skills and talent required to succeed, and there is no better way to do this than through apprenticeships.

Chris Brewerton head of the Sutton Coldfield Chamber of Commerce, added: “Sutton Coldfield has a proud history of educating its young people with so many schools and establishments working incredibly hard, especially during 2020, to prepare their pupils for the world of work.

“For many, apprenticeships are a logical next step and it 's great to see a Chamber member starting such a positive campaign to get the young people of Sutton Coldfield into work with locally based businesses. ”
