Birmingham based independent property consultancy, KWB, has secured a deal that will see the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) open new offices at Friars Gate in Solihull.

Working on behalf of the building’s owner, Topland, KWB agreed a new lease with the CIPP to occupy a 5,500 sq ft office suite on the ground floor of Friars Gate.

The deal marks a key milestone for the company and will see the CIPP relocate its headquarters from Goldfinger House in Shirley to Friars Gate.

Paul Elton, operations director at the CIPP, said: “This is an exciting time for the CIPP as the team relocates into more contemporary headquarters at Friars Gate.

“For us, it was about finding an office suite that would provide high quality, sustainable space, whilst not compromising on location.

“Friars Gate offered the perfect solution - easily accessible to Solihull and the wider motorway network, with parking on site, a modern fit-out and an EPC-B rating.

“Moving into this new headquarters provides a modern, healthier workspace that brings our teams together on one floor; encouraging greater collaboration, supporting colleague wellbeing, and helping us deliver even greater value for our members.”

This is the latest in a flurry of summer deals at Friars Gate, which saw residential developer, Living Space move into their new headquarters, and Caterpillar Financial renew their lease, having been happily located at Friars Gate since 2017.

Malcolm Jones, director at KWB, said: “Friars Gate continues to be a popular choice for businesses looking for office space in the Solihull area.

“This latest deal with the CIPP leaves just two suites currently unoccupied and, with the M42 Corridor increasingly becoming the top choice for businesses in the Midlands, I don’t think they will be empty for long.”

The remaining office suites measure 8,582 sq ft and 4,037 sq ft and are located on the second and third floors respectively.

Both provide open plan working environments that benefit from significant levels of natural light and can be easily configured to accommodate a range of business types.

Recent research conducted by KWB showed that office take-up in Solihull and along the M42 corridor surpassed that of Birmingham city centre in Q2 this year - marking only the fourth time this has ever happened. Impressively, half of these deals were completed by KWB.

Malcolm continued: “We are continuing to see a rise in popularity of mid-tier deals in the Solihull area - like that agreed with the CIPP.

“Many occupiers have decided they need less office space as employees combine being in the office with flexible working, however the space itself needs to be of higher quality - hence the popularity of locations like Friars Gate.”

Occupying a prominent position fronting the A34 Stratford Road, Friars Gate provides direct access to the national motorway networks, with Birmingham International Railway Station, Birmingham Airport and the National Exhibition Centre all a short drive away.

Additionally, Solihull town centre is just five minutes by car. It continues to be a popular option for businesses and is home to a range of occupiers, from small to large multi-national organisations, including: Jaguar Land Rover Gymshark and Secure Trust Bank.
