Women’s football in Lichfield has received a huge boost – thanks to property services firm CJE Developments.

The all-in-one property maintenance and support services company has announced its sponsorship of Lichfield City FC’s women’s first team and development teams.

The sponsorship includes the under-9,11,12,13,15 and 18s teams.

Chelsea Smith, secretary for Lichfield City Women, said: “(Managing director) Conner Elwell and CJE have been extremely supportive of the girls’ development pathway at Lichfield City.

“Their contribution to the club, through sponsorship on the back of all our junior section teams’ shirts, has helped ensure that every player has a smart and professional kit.

“A member of the junior team put me in touch with Conner, and he was extremely generous in extending his support to our women’s team.

“CJE are now also proudly featured on the back of the women’s home shirts.

“This contribution has strengthened the unity across our entire club pathway, showing the connection from the youngest age groups right through to our open age ladies.”

The sponsorship has also enabled the club to cover subscription costs for two players for the 2025-26 season.

Chelsea added: “We believe football should be accessible to all, and financial barriers should never prevent a girl or woman from being able to play.

Sponsorship from businesses like CJE makes a real, direct difference. Whether it is funding kit, equipment, or giving players the opportunity to play without the worry of costs, this support is vital.

“It not only helps on a practical level but also sends a powerful message that women and girls in football matter.

“It is a personal ambition at Lichfield that no female player should be required to pay to play.

“With the backing of progressive and ambitious businesses such as CJE, who see the true value of women’s and girls’ football, that vision becomes closer to reality and helps future proof Women and Girls football at Lichfield.”
