Beth Clewes, insight and intelligence services manager at the Chamber, said: “It 's great to have Dr Varney speaking at this event to discuss the ongoing Covid situation and its implications for businesses in Greater Birmingham.

“The Greater Birmingham business community continues to show its strength and resilience throughout the last two years and we have seen some positive changes over recent months with the vaccine being rolled out to, and taken up by, the majority of the population.

“However, we understand that we are not yet in a 'post-Covid ' world and that businesses are still facing challenges as a result of the Omicron variant, which is reflected in our QBR findings. ”

The Quarterly Business Report offers an up to date snapshot of the performance of the business community in Birmingham and the surrounding area.

The upcoming event will focus on the prospect of an economic recovery for Greater Birmingham in 2021.

The event is free for members and non-members of the Chamber to attend.
