The Pirelli Stadium 's annual Cheltenham Festival raceday proved a surefire winner - raising £1,609 for Burton Albion Community Trust.

More than 200 racing fans filled out the Albion Suite at the Pirelli to enjoy the final day of the Cheltenham Festival.

A licensed bookmaker was on site to handle all bets from the punters - with all profits donated to the Community Trust and a cheque received by Partnerships and Events Manager Steff White.

Attendees were also able to enjoy a five-course meal at the event - which was officially sponsored by Lifestyle Bar.

Steff White said: "Thank you so much to everyone who came down and helped to raise such an amazing total for Burton Albion Community Trust.

"These unrestricted funds will go into various Community Trust projects as we look to inspire, engage and educate our community."

Host and TV legend Gary Newbon said: "It was a fantastic day, we must thank all the staff at Burton Albion and the chefs.

"Thanks to Darren and Jeff, the bookmakers, who ran the operation without taking a penny's profit, with £1,609 going to Burton Albion Community Trust.

"We hope to see everyone back here for BAFC Events' Ascot Ladies Day in June. ”

The Royal Ascot Ladies Day returns to the Pirelli Stadium on Thursday, June 22 and bookings are now being taken.
