Region's firms invited to explore Dubai expo opportunities
West Midlands businesses with an interest in the Middle East are being encouraged to find out more about the Dubai Expo, which runs from now until next March.
The Expo - originally due to be held in 2020 - is taking place at a 1,000 acre site located between Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
The overall theme of the Expo is 'connecting minds, creating the future ', and the organisers are keen for businesses to get involved as much as possible with what 's going on.
The country pavilions each take a sub-theme, either 'opportunity ', 'mobility ' and 'sustainability '.The UK 's pavilion is 'opportunity '.
The organisers are keen for businesses to get involved as much as possible with what 's going on.
Among those involved with the Expo is The Corporate Group (TCG), which has multiple roles at the event.
The organisations is an official ticket reseller for Expo 2020, and is also engaged with a number of strategic partners at the site, such as Dubai FDI (part of the Department of Economic Development in Dubai), Dubai Chamber, Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), Ministry of Economy and Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation (MOAFIC) for its role in bringing foreign direct investment opportunities into UAE.
To support these activities, TCG is participating in various speaker events taking place in different country pavilions.
In addition, the organisation is supporting business delegations from different countries in bringing them to the UAE, and showing them to the huge opportunities that the Expo presents.
TCG is also working on business matching and 1-2-1 meetings for the country pavilions, as this will be the main source of potential business deals for the countries participating in the Expo.
TCG group managing director Ayman Al Awadhi said: “With 192 country pavilions participating this time in Expo 2020, there are immense business opportunities ready to be tapped onto for startups, SMEs and corporates across all industries.
“It can't get better to meet your clients, business partners and stakeholders of your business in single site and being able to see futuristic outlook on how the global market and trends would look like by adopting new technologies and ways of serving customers. ”
TCG is taking part in an event this month organised by the Arab British Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with Dubai FDI.
It is an online seminar, titled 'UAE: Business Gateway to the World ', and will be held on 16 November.
Speakers will highlight how easy it is to do business in the Emirates, and the support that is available for companies seeking to enter the market and develop trading relationships with the country will also be explained.
The UAE is an elective monarchy, formed from the seven emirates that make it up, including Dubai.
The UAE 's economy is more diversified than any others of Gulf Co-operation Council members, and is less reliant on oil and gas revenues than it once was.
Today, Dubai leans towards being a gateway to the Middle East and was rated 26th best place to do business by the World Bank in 2017.
