Rep takes production of Anansi The Spider on tour to libraries across West Midlands
Birmingham Rep is taking its production of Anansi The Spider to 17 libraries across Birmingham and the West Midlands following an “overwhelming” response from critics and audiences.
The show is running at The Door theatre until Sunday 11 January – but a compact touring version is now going on the road to local libraries.
The tour has been devised to give more young people and families within the local community an opportunity to experience the magic of live theatre and storytelling – with all tickets provided completely free of charge, thanks to funding from Arts Council England.
The show, aimed at young people aged 4-8 years, shares West African and Caribbean folktales of the infamous trickster, Anansi The Spider.
Packed with live music, singing and dancing, it promises the perfect introduction to theatre for little ones.

- East Park Library (Fri 30 Jan, 11.30am and 1.45pm)
- Wolverhampton Central Library (Sat 31 Jan, 1.30pm)

Weekday performances are aimed at schools and Saturday performances are open to the public.
