Residents encouraged to submit Coronation street party requests

Organisers of Coronation street parties across Lichfield District are being asked to submit their applications as soon as possible.

Residents and community groups celebrating the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III will need to apply to have their road closure confirmed by Lichfield District Council.

Submitting applications promptly will ensure that they can be processed in time for the event. Applications made after Friday 21 April 2023 may not be accepted due to time constraints.

William Stevenson, Governance Officer, said: “We want to ensure that every organiser is able to celebrate the Coronation. So that we can process applications in a timely fashion and issue notices for affected routes, we encourage residents and community groups to make their requests this week. ”

The Coronation takes place on Saturday 6 May 2023, with a national bank holiday to follow on Monday 8 May 2023.

In order to make an application, residents can download a form via the Lichfield District Council website. The completed form should then be emailed to [email protected].
