Retailer backs Sutton micro business award
A national carpet retailer is backing tonight 's Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield & Tamworth and Cannock Chase Chambers of Commerce dinner and awards.
United Carpets - which has a store in Mere Green, Sutton Coldfield - is sponsoring the Sutton Coldfield Micro Business of the Year category.
The awards are taking place at the Drayton Manor Hotel, with more than 200 guests attending.
Naeem Arif, director of United Carpets and vice-president of the Sutton Coldfield Chamber, said: “We were really pleased to be invited to get involved with the Chambers ' awards.
“As a national retailer with a relatively new presence in Sutton we think it 's a great opportunity for us.
“Sponsoring these awards is important for us because having been a citizen of the Royal Town all my life it 's a great opportunity for us to support the region.
“As a collective we all need to do our bit so that we increase the commerce in our local economy. ”
Eleven awards will be presented at the awards ceremony. They are:
