Ronald McDonald charity to host inaugural skydive
Ronald McDonald House Charities is holding its first skydive weekend to raise money to provide free 'home away from home ' accommodation for families with children in hospital.
Taking place on Saturday 19 June at Tilstock Airfield, Shropshire, the skydive will see teams of charity supporters jumping from more than10,000 feet to raise money.
Ronald McDonald House Charities UK has 12 houses across the UK situated in or just minutes away from partnered NHS hospitals.
This includes the Birmingham house, located next to Birmingham Children 's Hospital.
The houses offer families a place to eat, rest and recharge so they can support their seriously ill children undergoing treatment and maintain a degree of normal family life by staying close to them.
Vanessa Simmons, national community fundraising manager at Ronald McDonald House Charities UK, said: “We are really excited to be running this event and we encourage everyone to take on this challenge to support families when they need us most.
“Covid-19 has had a devastating impact on our ability to raise funds over the last year and we hope as many people as possible will join us across the country to take part. ”
To book your place you will need to pay a £50 deposit and then raise a minimum £400 in sponsorship.
