Rosies nightclub to get £1m facelift on fifth anniversary

Rosies Birmingham on Broad Street is enjoying a major facelift exactly five years after the late-night venue opened for the first time.

The nightclub will undergo a £1 million refurbishment while remaining open to customers throughout the work.

The improvement work starts at the front of the premises, which will see a new Rosies logo followed by a facelift to the foyer area including new wall art and replacement lighting in the form of large lanterns.

The rolling improvements will include all-new flooring on the ground floor of the two-storey club known as the Montana bar, replacement toilets, and facelifts to the venue 's numerous bars.

The major refurbishment will be to Montana with the wall-to-wall bar enjoying replacement flooring, improvements to the VIP booths, and relocation of the DJ area from the centre of the room to the back.

The four booths will also be reupholstered, and the carpet underneath replaced with the same new flooring.

The Retro room which has two bars will also see the lighting on the dancefloor relocated and the final part of the project involves taking out the venue 's three toilet blocks and replacing them together with new tiling in each.

The work began just over a fortnight ago and should be completed by the middle of this month. The nightspot will continue to remain open to the public despite the extensive work.

Deputy manager Dean Crawshaw said: “We wanted to keep the premises fresh and give it a facelift that will continue to make it attractive for our customers.

“The work to date has affected capacity, but nowhere near what we would have lost if we had shut. And it hasn 't affected the operation of the club. That was important to us. ”

“Montana is the sole room downstairs, but the flooring is split into two different designs while showing some wear and tear.

“So, everything is being ripped up and replaced with new flooring. This will mean closing Montana on the day the work is carried out, but the rest of Rosies will remain open. ”

Mike Olley, general manager of Westside BID, said: “The £1 million investment in Rosies ' refurbishment just shows how the entertainment sector on Westside has returned following Covid-19.

“Rosies is a favourite venue of thousands of party-going customers every week, and the new facilities will draw more people in. ”
