Royal Sutton Fun Run organisers hail event a 'tremendous success'
Oranganisers of the 2026 Royal Sutton Fun Run a "tremendous success" after the annual event brought together thousands of runners, walkers, volunteers and supporters.
The 8.5-mile route through Royal Sutton Coldfield and Sutton Park once again attracted participants of all ages and abilities, with many taking part in support of local charities and voluntary organisations.
For more than four decades, the Fun Run has generated millions of pounds for charitable organisations, and it is hoped that this year's event will add substantially to that total.
Following the success of this year's event, planning is already underway for the next Royal Sutton Fun Run, with Early Bird registration for the 2027 event now open.
A Fun Run spokesperson said: "Such success is a testament to the dedication and collaboration of many individuals and organisations.
"Particular thanks go to Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Council, whose continued support plays a vital role in ensuring the event remains a highlight of the town's calendar, and to Cookes Furniture, whose commitment as a headline sponsor helps make the event possible year after year.
"Recognition should also be given to the many sponsors, supporters and local businesses whose continued commitment contributes significantly to the event’s success.
"Special thanks are due to the new event management team, HS Sports, whose outstanding effort, professionalism and dedication played a pivotal role in delivering this year’s event. From months of planning through to event-day operations, their commitment was evident throughout.
"Their work, alongside the invaluable support of the many volunteers, helped ensure a safe, well-organised and enjoyable experience for all participants and spectators.
"Alongside its fundraising impact, the event once again demonstrated the strength of community spirit within Royal Sutton Coldfield, bringing together residents, businesses, schools, charities and community organisations in a shared celebration of health, wellbeing and local spirit."
