Participants in this year’s 42nd Royal Sutton Fun Run have chosen 154 charities and voluntary organisations to benefit from the £285,570 they have raised in 2025.

It is the fourth highest total raised since the event began in 1982.

Event director Tracey Spare said: “Fun Run participants have raised another staggering sum of money for their chosen charities & voluntary organisations, which is particularly pleasing when you consider the challenging domestic financial challenges.

“A total of £861,000 has been raised in the four years since we returned following the covid restrictions. Another remarkable figure.

“Having spoken with some of the charities and voluntary organisations to financially benefit, it’s evident the sponsor money is very welcome as those within the voluntary sector strive to continue to offer their services during a very challenging economic climate.”

The total raised and distributed since the first Royal Sutton Fun Run in 1982 has now reached over £5.68million.

Tracey added: “Back in 1982, no one could have anticipated that in 2025, the Royal Sutton Fun Run would still be a fixture within the annual event calendar in Royal Sutton Coldfield.

“Most people originally forecast a five-year life span, yet, forty-three years later, this unique event continues to attract participants from across the country and raise significant sums of money to support those living with physical, mental, and emotional life challenges.

“To have distributed over £5.68 million in that period, is testament to everyone who has contributed to the event whether as a member of the organising team, commercial sponsor, volunteer, participant or spectator. It really is a huge team effort and time for everyone to pat themselves on the back for a job well done.”

Registration for the 43rd Royal Sutton Fun Run – taking place on Sunday 31 May, 2026 – opens on Saturday 31 January.
