Rugby legend guest at sporting lunch

One of the biggest names in world rugby will be the guest of honour at the 2022 Midlands Sporting Luncheon, hosted by Eventmasters.

Brian O 'Driscoll (Pictured), the former Ireland and British & Irish Lions international, is appearing at the event on Wednesday 7 December at Birmingham 's Macdonald Burlington Hotel.

The Sporting Luncheon has a history of attracting top names from rugby, with past guests including former England stars Jason Robinson, Dylan Hartley, Phil Vickery and Mike Tindall, as well as ex-Wales ace Sam Warburton.

The resident Master of Ceremonies for the Sporting Luncheon is Tim Stimpson, himself a former England international,

This year 's guest O 'Driscoll is the fourth most capped rugby union player in history.

He played at outside centre for club side Leinster and for his Country, Ireland, winning the first of 133 caps at the age of 20.

He toured with the Lions on four separate occasions.

“I believe that this is the first time that he has appeared in the city of Birmingham. It will be a real treat for our rugby clients ”

O 'Driscoll said: “The Midlands Sporting Luncheon has honoured a who 's who of the game and I was delighted to accept the invitation to attend this year. ”

The event is also part of fundraising activities carried out throughout the year by the Eventmasters Foundation, with funds raised going towards one of the nominated charities for 2022, Prostate Cancer UK.
