The Holy Rosary Catholic Voluntary Academy in Winshill, Burton are relaunching their 'Foodbank Friday 's' to encourage their children to think about kindness and helping others by adding an item of food to the foodbank trolley at school

Foodbank Fridays started at the school in 2019 and will see donations going towards YMCA Burton's mission to prevent youth homelessness and provide emergency provisions to those in need.

Pupil and family support worker Tom Miller (pictured) said: "As a school we are focusing on empathy and kindness which also links to our Gospel Values. We are delighted to be able to offer our support to the amazing work that YMCA Burton continue to do. This year we are excited to be taking it from a few classes taking part in Food Bank Friday to a whole school initiative."

Paul Laffey, CEO of YMCA Burton said: “Thank you to the children and staff at Holy Rosary for supporting the work we do at YMCA Burton. Their contributions help us to feed vulnerable people here in East Staffordshire and since the beginning of this year; we have helped to achieve this by supplying over 600 meals from our Foodbank. ”
