A school based in Coventry has won an exclusive outreach activity competition organised by BMet college in partnership with Hits Radio.

Cardinal Wiseman School fought off stiff competition from schools across the region to win the competition.

Students at Cardinal Wiseman received the news in a surprise school assembly, where BMet’s Sutton Coldfield vice principal, Dagen Thompson, presented them with a “golden ticket”, marking their incredible achievement.

The prom night will see Year 11 pupils finish their school days with a lavish party set to take place this summer.

The evening will feature entertainers on arrival, a live DJ, sweets, candy floss and chocolate fountain.  There will also be spot prizes given away on the night.

Rob Swanwick, headteacher at Cardinal Wiseman School, said: “'We are thrilled to have been awarded this prom package.

“With 'Fortune favours the brave' as our school mantra this year, we are truly grateful for this opportunity to recognise all our students' efforts and commitment, and this generous contribution will enhance a meaningful milestone at the end of their school journey.”

BMet’s School Engagement Programme helps students explore their post – 16 education options, from A- Levels and vocational courses to apprenticeships and higher education pathways.

Schools in the region are invited to take part in Prom 2027.
