Second speaker announced for Birmingham Tech Week event
The impact new technologies such as AI and automation are having on SMEs will be the topic of discussion at an upcoming event, jointly hosted by Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce and HSBC UK.
Digital Transformation Decoded is a Birmingham Tech Week fringe event taking place on 17 October at HSBC UK's Head office in Centenary Square, Birmingham.
The event will provide practical advice, insight and information on what developments - from AI, data analytics and automation, to advances in cloud-based solutions and cyber security - mean for Greater Birmingham's business community.
This event is also set to explore how businesses are embracing the opportunities and navigating the challenges of the digital industrial revolution - as well as learning more about the tangible benefits of doing so.
GBCC chief executive Henrietta Brealey is chairing the discussion.
She will be joined by Dr Sud Parwana (pictured), who is PwC's UK Digital Products leader and the Technology lead for the Midlands region. Sud has been with the firm for 13 years and helps clients with digital transformation across multiple technical domains, including data and analytics, cloud, product development and artificial intelligence.
Sud has delivered engagements across a broad set of industry sectors, including Media, Retail, Automotive, Financial Services, Government and Public Sector and more. Sud's ethos is to partner alongside clients, helping them to build teams and solutions that will be sustainable in an ever-changing digital age.
Prior to joining PwC, Sud completed his PhD in computational mathematics at the University of Birmingham, developing triangulation algorithms for computer aided engineering applications.
Sud said: “It's an exciting time in digital, with AI developing at pace as well as cloud and cyber security becoming board level priorities for businesses. That said, it can be difficult to know where to start or how best to invest in digital for many leaders.
“At PwC, we're here to advise and guide our clients and use our global tech expertise to deliver sustained outcomes. Being part of the Digital Transformation Decoded event is one way we can share our knowledge and support businesses in taking their next step in digital.”
