A silent auction at Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce’s 2026 annual awards raised £3,500 for a Birmingham charity.

Organised by sports hospitality firm Eventmasters, the auction held during the awards at the ICC last month generated the impressive sum for Chamber president Andy Dawson’s chosen charity Sport 4 Life UK.

Headquartered in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, Sport 4 Life UK uses the power of sport to help young people reach their potential.

The charity supports disadvantaged young people by providing the skills, qualifications and support needed to find work and shape successful futures.

It also provides a holistic programme of sport, mentoring, qualifications and employability support to improve their mental health and wellbeing, life skills and route to end unemployment.

Nick Cheese, operations manager at Sport 4 Life UK, said: “Sport 4 Life UK are incredibly grateful to the Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce and Eventmasters for their phenomenal support at this year’s awards.

“Being named the President’s Charity for 2026 is an immense honour and seeing local businesses and event attendees rally behind us is truly inspiring.

“The money raised through Eventmasters' silent auction will go directly towards supporting young people across the West Midlands by equipping them with the key life skills, qualifications and mentoring they need to shape successful futures.”

Birmingham-based Eventmasters, who provide corporate hospitality and VIP experiences to a host of major UK sporting events, are long-time supporters of the GBCC’s annual awards dinner.

Denise Sheasby, CEO of the Eventmasters Group, said: “Eventmasters, through our sister company The Silent Auction Events Company, were delighted to support the fundraising efforts yet again at the GBCC Awards.

“We would like to thank everyone involved, in particular the members, in attendance for their superb support.”

Andy Dawson added: “A big thank to everyone who attended the Chamber awards and Eventmasters for their generosity in raising much-needed funds for the excellent work that the team at Sport 4 Life UK do.

“This means we can continue to provide the priceless support that our young people need across the region.”
