Life sciences SMEs in the region are invited to attend a series of events focused on innovation, collaboration, and knowledge sharing during this Life Sciences Week.

As part of Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce’s collaboration with Life Sciences Week, a special session has been launched on the Power of Partnerships in the Life Sciences sector.

It will take place at the Orelle restaurant on Thursday, 18 September from 08.45 to 9.30 am with Professor Gino Martini, CEO of GBCC partner, Precision Health Technologies Accelerator (PHTA).

This talk will explore how partnerships fuel innovation, accelerate market access, and build resilience across industries, with a particular lens on the health and life sciences sector in the region.

Following this session, attendees will have the opportunity to engage directly with Professor Martini. The event will be followed by a Greater Birmingham Global Chamber of Commerce brunch event focusing on The Power of Potential Partnerships.

Elsewhere, GBCC head of commercial development David Woakes (pictured) will be presenting at the Medilink Midlands Innovation Day, taking place today at Villa Park.

David will be talking about the latest developments of international activities, and ways to gain support with exporting and doing business globally.

Speaking about the event, David said: “Life Sciences Week is a fantastic opportunity for SMEs in our region to connect, collaborate and explore new ways of doing business.

“The sector is moving at pace, and by coming together to share knowledge and forge partnerships, we can help local firms access new markets, accelerate innovation and strengthen the region’s position as a global player in life sciences.”

Meanwhile, GBCC members can also access a resource designed to provide the knowledge, tools and support firms need to thrive in today’s competitive landscape.

The Business Growth Studio (BGS) is a new initiative launched by GBCC – combining previous campaigns of Growth Through People and Sustainable Business Series into a hub of expert insights, practical workshops, and peer-led support.

It is based on the core themes of Growth Foundations, Growth Through People, Sustainable Growth, Innovation for Growth, Tech for Growth, and Global Growth.

The GBCC has worked closely with life sciences SMEs to find solutions to the pressing challenges businesses have faced including international trade and innovation.
