Social enterprise receives recognition for service to city 's carers
The Midlands-based community interest company, Forward Carers, has been named as one of the most impressive social enterprises in the UK, according to the Natwest SE100 index.
The NatWest SE100 celebrates the success of socially-driven ventures across the UK by naming the most impressive 100 social enterprises of the year in a top 100 Index.
One of the named companies on this year 's list was Forward Carers, a social enterprise and community interest company committed to creating 'carer-friendly communities ' and opening people 's eyes to the lives of the unpaid carers within our community.
Across Birmingham alone, 1 in 4 houses is home to an unpaid carer who provides care for frail, sick or disabled loved ones.
In support of the carer community, Forward Carers creates partnerships with other local not-for-profits to provide free support and services that make life better for carers, such as wellness and relaxation activities, training and one-to-one support.
Simon Fenton (pictured), CEO at Forward Carers, said: “We are thrilled to be selected as one of the Top 100 UK Social Enterprises in the Natwest SE100 Index.
It's an honour to be included amongst such outstanding company and a testament to the hard work of our team and wider partnerships who have dedicated themselves to supporting the unpaid carers in our communities. ”
