During the visit, St Giles' head of fundraising Chloe Hope took the opportunity to let Pickerings know that the donation means their support support since 2009 has now exceeded £25,000.

This has been achieved through fundraising efforts such as solstice walks, various running and biking events and Make your Will Month.

Chloe said: "Thank you so much, this will make a true difference to the patients and families that we care for. We really appreciate your continue support, in all of the different ways that you contribute to St Giles Hospice."

St Giles Hospice is a registered charity providing individually-tailored care for patients living with cancer, motor neurone disease, heart failure, multiple sclerosis and other serious illnesses.

Relying on donations, St Giles provides specialist care, free of charge either at the hospice or at home.

Sue Hatton, director at Pickerings, said: “We are proud to be able to support the fantastic work carried out by the team at St Giles. It 's good that we can organise and take part in truly fun events which make a contribution. We 're already setting the dates for next year! ”
