Solihull Apprenticeship and Pathways Show to return next month
Young people are invited to learn about local apprenticeships and post-16 pathways at the Solihull Apprenticeship and Pathways Show in October.
With around 1,200 attendees for the last apprenticeship show, the event is a great opportunity for young people to learn about apprenticeships as alternatives to further studies.
The variety of post-16 pathways will be included at the show for the first time so that young people will be able to explore all the options after GCSE.
Visitors will have the chance to speak to employers and training providers from manufacturing, construction, engineering and public sectors. Exhibitors include Rolls-Royce, Dodd Group, Balfour Beatty VINCI, HSBC, National Grid, the British Army, Solihull College & University Centre, University of Brimingham, Nova Training and Solihull Council.
Current apprentices will be there to share their first-hand experience with visitors. It will take place at the Cranmore Park on Wednesday, 22 October 2025 from 2:30pm to 7:00pm.
Councillor Heather Delaney, portfolio holder for Economy, Business & Skills, said: “This is our flagship event that has always been well-attended. Through speaking with young people we know that they are increasingly interested in post-16 pathways besides A-Levels. That is why post-16 pathways such as BTECs, T Levels and Internships will be introduced in addition to apprenticeships.
“With all the information available at this event, we hope that young people would be better able to make an informed decision after completing GCSE’s.
“The Apprenticeship and Pathway Show is also a great opportunity for employers to find out young people’s expectations entering the world of work, enabling them to be the employer of choice by offering the most needed support for their future team. This is going to be a rewarding evening for everyone involved.”
Organised by Solihull Careers Hub which is part of the Council’s Employment and Skills Team, the Solihull Apprenticeship and Pathways Show is free for employers to exhibit. Booking is now open for the show in October, as well as the one in January 2026. Book your space now with this form.
