Solihull community organisation brings innovative cooking programme to Mell Square
Solihull community organisation Food for Thought CIC is bringing a new innovative cooking programme to Mell Square during this half term.
The programme named, Think. Make. Cook will be running from 27 October to 30 October and will include three interactive street-food cooking zones, where young people can prepare their own meals while developing, confidence teamwork and nutritional awareness.
The event will also feature free funded cooking experiences on Tuesday and Wednesday from 1 pm to 5 pm. Thursday and Friday will offer affordable £4.50 meals with opportunities to actively participate in cooking.
The initiative offers positive alternatives to anti-social behaviour while creating pathways into volunteering, training and employment.
Food for Thought CIC, uses food to tackle inequality, improve wellbeing, and give every child the best start in life.
Aairon Dalton (pictured), founder of Food for Thought said: “Food for Thought was never just about feeding people. It's about what food can unlock. We're listening to young people, building on their interests and creating opportunities for them to thrive.
“Mell Square is our next step towards a model that can benefit communities much further afield.”
