Solihull Hospital Charity asks for support from local communities
Solihull Hospital Charity is spreading festive cheer to patients and staff this December and is asking for support from the local community.
The Charity’s annual Christmas appeal helps bring the magic of Christmas to patients spending the festive period in hospital.
The hospital charity provides added extras to bring smiles and joy to lift patients’ spirits and make their stay more comfortable.
From Christmas trees that light up wards and departments, festive treats shared by patients and staff, and special gifts for children, supporting the Christmas appeal can make a huge difference to your local hospital during the festive season.
Charlotte Schofield, director of fundraising at Solihull Hospital Charity, said; “For most of us, Christmas is a time to spend with loved ones.
“But for many patients, Christmas Day will be spent in hospital and for families facing illness or uncertainty, it can be an especially difficult and emotional time.
“Our Christmas appeal helps make those challenging days a little brighter, bringing comfort, smiles, and a sense of normality to patients who find themselves in hospital over the festive period.”
There are many ways to support Solihull Hospital Charity’s Christmas Appeal – including taking part in festive fundraising by joining in with the Charity’s Festive Jumper Day on Thursday 10 December.
The charity also has a virtual Christmas shop where virtual gifts are available from £5 to help patients and staff.
Local businesses can also get involved, by sponsoring a Christmas tree at Solihull Hospital.
Christmas tree sponsorship provides a beautifully decorated tree, and there is also toy tree sponsorship which helps provide gifts for young patients on Christmas Day, bringing joy to children who are too ill to be home for Christmas.
