Solihull music festival returns to give town centre hospitality a summer boost
Solihull’s annual free music festival is back this weekend to provide a vital boost for the town centre’s pubs, bars, restaurants and cafes during a challenging trading period for hospitality.
The Solihull music festival will run from Friday 19th to Sunday 21st June and will fill the town centre with 34 live performances spanning pop, rock, indie, opera, musical theatre, choirs and a silent disco.
The festival has expanded for 2026 with dedicated stages on the high street and in Mell Square, alongside performances hosted inside more than 20 venues across the town.
Acts will be performing inside well-known hospitality spots including Crowne Plaza, Slug & Lettuce, Wing Kingz, The Beech House, O'Neill's, The Mason's Arms, Yakinori, Kibou, Côte, Boston Tea Party, Doyle's Bar, Popworld, Zizzi, VOCO St Johns, Paramo Lounge, Carluccio's and the Solihull British Legion, drawing footfall directly into the businesses that need it most.
Solihull Business Improvement District (BID), which organises the festival, is encouraging residents and visitors to make a weekend of it and enjoy the free performances while eating, drinking and shopping locally in a show of support for the town centre's hospitality sector.
Melanie Palmer, chief executive of Solihull BID, said: “This year’s Music Festival has evolved from a more traditional live music event into a much broader celebration of music styles, embracing everything from contemporary acts to classical piano, opera and even a performance from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
“We can’t wait to entertain the visitors in Solihull this weekend. With the perfect weather, this will be a musical weekend to remember.”
Beyond the music, the festival promises a full weekend atmosphere with the Continental Street Food Market from RR Events, children's musical activities, and vintage bus rides making it an accessible, family-friendly event for all ages.
