Solihull technology firm named digital startup of the year

A fast-growing technology firm based in the heart of Solihulll is celebrating after being named Digital Startup of the Year at the 2021 West Midlands Tech Awards.

Wise, who specialise in creating software for the self-employment sector, picked up the award at a ceremony held by BirminghamLive and CoventryLive at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham.

Founded in 2019, the firm which is based at Radcliffe House in Solihull, has gone through dramatic growth through the last eighteen months with the Wise platform now supporting over 250 UK logistics firms and 11,000 self-employed subcontractors.

Dan Richards (pictured centre), chief commercial officer at Wise, said: “Our business has been on an incredible journey over the last year or two as we 've dramatically expanded the team, bringing in the very best tech talent from across the region to create a platform that is genuinely revolutionary.

"We 're delighted to have won this West Midlands Tech Award and this is testament to the hard work and dedication shown by the entire Wise team. ”

This West Midlands Tech Award rounds off a busy few months for the firm following its move to a large new office space at Radcliffe House as well as its landmark sponsorship deal with community football club, Solihull Moors FC.
