Sparkle day to shine a light on children with disabilities
Charity for disabled children, Newlife, is launching Sparkle Day to raise funds and awareness about children with disabilities.
There are over half a million disabled and terminally ill children in the UK living without the vital equipment they need and the charity is raising funds to provide specialist they need. The specialist equipment include specialist beds, buggies, wheelchairs and sensory toys.
The charity said: “Whether you 're at school, work or home, we invite you to add some sparkle to your day whilst raising funds to support disabled and terminally ill children.
“We want everyone to get involved in brightening the lives of the disabled children and their families who turn to us each year for specialist equipment and support. ”
The charity supported Ronnie, a child with cerebral palsy to get a specialist seat called a P Pod.
Ronnie 's dad, Simon, said: “Before we got the P-Pod the only option for Ronnie was to lie on the floor on a cushion we bought that 's meant to be for patio seating. The P-Pod means Ronnie can socially sit upright with us. He also will watch some of his favourite programmes, which at the moment is the quiz show Tenable as he likes to clap in time with the theme music.
“The fact Ronnie is upright is much better for his vision as he spent far too long only experiencing the world from lying down. ”
