The speakers have been announced for the Chamber 's Growth Through People event which focuses on a four-day work week.
The event, titled 'Growth Through People 2023: Is a 4-day week the future of work? ', will be held at Millennium Point on 7 March.
Speakers include:
- Andy Dawson, founder and director at Curium Solutions
- Joe O'Connor, director and co-founder, Work Time Reduction Center of Excellence
- Carl Hollier, managing director at Industrial Washing Machines
The event, organised by Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce (GBCC), is sponsored by and delivered in partnership with Aston University, South and City College Birmingham and the West Midlands Combined Authority.
Growth Through People aims to boost regional and firm-level productivity through encouraging the uptake of best-practice approaches to leadership and people management.
Delegates should register to attend this event, which asks the question, is a 4-day week the future of work, for:
- Insights on attracting and retaining the talent you need in business when traditional approaches haven 't yielded results.
- Peer-to-peer advice on boosting employee engagement and productivity.
- Opportunities to network with senior decision-makers, including leaders and managers and HR professionals in Greater Birmingham.
Emily Stubbs (pictured), senior policy and projects manager at the chambers said, “Almost every company that took part in the government 's recent four day week pilot reported that they will plan to continue with the four day week beyond the pilot study.
“The pilot study found that by reducing working hours to 80 per cent - whilst still paying staff 100 per cent of regular pay - a majority of participating organisations maintained levels of business performance and productivity, while significantly reducing stress, burnout, and sick days, and increasing employee retention.
“This event will seek to answer the question, 'is a four day week the future of work? ' with insights from transformation experts Andy Dawson and Joe O 'Conner and a case study from Carl Hollier, managing director of Industrial Washing Machines, a local business which recently transitioned to a four day working week. ”
