Speakers announced for Solihull Economic Update panel event
Solihull Chamber of Commerce have announced the speaker lineup for the Solihull Economic Update, which will kick off this year's Solihull Expo.
Taking place at Cranmore Park, the seminar will be hosted by Solihull Chamber President Emma-Louise Hewitt, and is aimed at providing an update on Solihull's economy from a panel of high-profile businesses and political leaders.
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about economic issues in Solihull, hear from high profile businesses and local political leaders, find out how economic trends will affect businesses and connect with like-minded businesses from the area.
The panel speakers are:
- Nick Barton- CEO of Birmingham Airport
- Antoinette Farrell-Jones- People Director at Birmingham Airport
- Karen Grinsell- Councillor for Shirley East Ward at Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council
- Tony Elvin- general manager of Touchwood Solihull
Tony Elvin said: “During turbulent times we’re seeing a myriad of different factors pushing and pulling our business and the businesses of our tenants in multiple directions.
“Business leaders need to remain agile and on their toes to pivot towards new opportunities and to mitigate new risks.
“Welcome to the new normal. I look forward to sharing insight on some of these challenges and how we are rising to meet them.”
There is also one more speaker to be confirmed. The first speaker will begin at 8.50am, and the last speaker will begin at 9.30am, with a Q+A session to follow.

After the Solihull Economic Update, the expo will also feature two seminars. Delegate tickets grant admission to the seminars on the day, on a first-come, first-served basis which you can register for upon arrival at the venue.
The first seminar, ‘Make Every Word Count’, takes place from 11am-11:30am and is presented by Richard Newell, founder of Perception Copywriting.
This seminar will provide practical tips and advice for businesses on how to write clearly, get to the point, and save time.
The second seminar, 'LinkedIn for Business in 2025: What’s Working Now & What’s Coming Next', takes place from 11.45am to 12.15pm and is presented by Ben Macdonald, founder of T40 Digital and Lessclicks.
This seminar will allow attendees to find out how real businesses are using LinkedIn to attract leads, start conversations and win work - without spending hours a day online.
