Special summer menu announced for new garden restaurant

Lichfield restaurant The Boat Inn has announced a brand-new Summer Alfresco Menu for its new outdoor dining area and garden.

Available at lunchtime and early evening with no reservation required, the Summer Alfresco Menu has a casual feel with dishes specifically created for outdoor dining. There is also a range of recommended drinks to compliment the dishes, some of which use home-grown ingredients from its onsite market garden.

The two-acre outdoor space includes fields for families to enjoy, a greenhouse that produces vegetables and herbs, and chicken coop for eggs used by The Boat Inn 's chefs.

Liam Dillon, chef and owner of The Boat Inn, said, “With the better weather and warmer evenings upon us, this space is perfect not just for casual dining but also drinks. The choice is yours. You can either dine outside, have pre-indoor drinks under the fairy lights, or simply pop in for a glass of wine, fizz, or a cocktail.

“When the Covid lockdowns hit we came up with the idea of enhancing our offer by using our outdoor space. We have a huge garden behind the restaurant and so it was the obvious area to develop and to offer our customers a different experience. And it 's a working garden. We grow a lot of our produce in the greenhouses which guests are welcome to view.

“It 's got the relaxed feel of a pub beer garden with a special menu and I and the team are looking forward to serving people. ”
