Businesses which have helped their local communities during the pandemic are being urged to take part in a film competition as part of Staffordshire Day.

To celebrate the annual event, the new film competition has been organised by Enjoy Staffordshire and Staffordshire County Council.

The competition has six film categories available to enter, including Business in the Community.

Other categories include Drama/Comedy, Documentary, Animation, Mini-Movie and Young Film-Maker.

Businesses wishing to enter the competition can submit their own short film, which can be anywhere from one to three minutes in length.

Videos will be judged by the award-winning film-makers Darren Teale MBE (Junction 15) and Ray Johnson MBE (Staffordshire Film Archive), who will also provide constructive feedback.

There will be a screening of the winning entries at a virtual awards ceremony on Staffordshire Day, taking place on 1 May.

The overall winner of the competition will win a cheque for £500 from sponsors, Staffordshire Film Archive.

Entries and the awards event will be managed by Enjoy Staffordshire, Staffordshire County Council, and Philip Kempson of www.FilmFreeway/thesmokiesuk
