Star tennis names announced for Lexus Birmingham Open

The players list for the Lexus Birmingham Open at Edgbaston Priory Club has been announced.

Huge British names such as Jacob Fearnley and Harriet Dart (pictured) will be competing on the grass courts.

Dart has enjoyed a standout 2026 season, playing a pivotal role in the Billie Jean King Cup’s team victory over in Australia in Melbourne in April.

She is now set to compete alongside 16 of the world’s top 100 players, including the Philippines’ Alexandra Eala and reigning HSBC Championships champion Tatjana Maria.  

Jacob Fearnley has seen a huge climb in 2024 which saw him reach the top 100 for the first time and has quickly established himself at the top of the British game.

It was his performances on British grass that helped rise in the rankings, claiming the Lexus Nottingham Open title in 2024. Fearnley will be hoping to replicate that form at the Edgbaston Priory Club this summer.

Otto Virtaenen from Finland is also on the list to defend his Lexus Birmingham Open crown and rising star

Nicolai Budkov Kjaer is also on the player list, this is the ultimate tennis tournament in the midlands.

Claire Daniel-Lepore, CEO of Edgbaston Priory Club, said: “We’re very excited to see such a strong player list compete on our grass courts this summer.

“It’s a major boost to see well-known British players like Harriet Dart and Jacob Fearnley coming to Birmingham too. We can’t wait for the grass court season to get started!”

The Lexus Birmingham Open takes places from Saturday 30 May to Sunday 7 June.
