Students at Solihull Sixth Form College recently attended a webinar that provided insight into the world of medical diagnostics.

The webinar was led by the Health and Safety team at The Binding Site, a medical technology manufacturer based in Birmingham.

It provided those students studying BTEC Applied Science at the college with more information about the specialist diagnostic products that the company supplies to clinicians and laboratory professionals around the world.

Students were also given an insight into the health and safety implications of this work.

Assistant principal Oona Stone said: "We 're grateful to all the staff involved at The Binding Site Group for giving up their time to talk to our BTEC students.

"The work that the Binding Site Group do is perhaps something our students have never thought about before, but it shows the many and diverse fields they can progress onto in the future. Highlighting the apprenticeships open to them are also raise their awareness of the alternatives to university that they can pursue. ”
