Students gain experience with video production firm
Two Lichfield based students have been gaining industry experience by working with a video production company on a new festival project.
James Fox and Martha Leicester, who are in the final weeks of completing their Bachelor of science Film and Television degrees at Lichfield College, have been working with Brave New Beast to film live performances at the Rugeley Rose Theatre Fringe Festival.
James and Martha set up the cameras and filmed live performances from a variety of artists including poets, musicians and actors, which will be edited and streamed live for the virtual Fringe Festival this summer.
Jo Foster, managing director of Brave New Beast, said: “it was fantastic to have James and Martha join us for this shoot. They both got 'stuck in ' and worked hard. We 're really pleased with the outcome."
Leanne Knapman, course leader for Film and TV degrees at the college, said: “Our degree students take work-based training with Brave New Beast as part of their course and are encouraged to get involved with professional projects to help kick-start their careers in the film and TV industry.
"Employers are looking for this type of extra-curricular work and we are very proud of James and Martha.
"They are coming to the end of studying their Staffordshire University degree with us at Lichfield and we wish them every success for the future. We 're also grateful to Brave New Beast for providing our degree students with many opportunities to 'learn on the job ' with professional projects ”.
James and his brother, Tom Fox, have a motorsport photography company, @foxyredphotography which tours tracks around the country, providing photography services for motorsport events. After completing his degree, James plans to continue building the Foxy Red portfolio.
