Survey launched to explore inclusiveness of community leadership roles
The West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) is on the lookout to enhance diversity within community leadership.
As a result, they are actively seeking participants to complete a survey with a focus on ways to bridge gaps on the crucial areas of;
- Magistrates: Essential in administering justice, magistrates ensure fairness and equity within communities.
- School governors: Shaping education, governors provide strategic oversight to nurture future leaders.
- Charity trustees and board members: Steering the voluntary sector, they impact countless lives through governance decisions.
These roles were selected for their influence in education, criminal justice, and the voluntary sector, respectively.
Survey participants stand a chance to win one of 10 £50 vouchers as a reward for their valued input. Click here to complete the survey.
The WMCA said in a statement: “Despite the West Midlands' rich diversity, with nearly half the population identifying as non-White British, the diverse communities remain underrepresented in community leadership.
“Community leadership is pivotal in shaping the region, offering volunteers a platform to cultivate essential leadership skills while making tangible impacts in their communities.”
