Surveyors attempt to take charity championship crown
The team took part in the hospice’s Charity Championship, raising a fantastic £1,200 which could pay for 32 hours of Living Well Centre services helping patients socialise and look after their wellbeing.
Birmingham Hospice has crafted an enriching volunteering opportunity that guarantees participating companies, and their staff members, finish their day having had the chance to assess their teamwork, communication, creativity, and negotiation abilities. Simultaneously, they contribute to fulfilling the company's social responsibility objectives.
Luke Manley, corporate fundraising manger at Birmingham Hospice, said: “We are delighted to present the Birmingham Hospice Charity Championship to companies and local businesses interested in making a positive impact.
“This fulfilling volunteer opportunity not only strengthens your team but also allows you to contribute to your local community.
“It takes people out of their homes and offices, offering a break from the routine for a day filled with enjoyment, laughter, and, most importantly, making a meaningful difference to those living with a terminal diagnosis, and their families of which Birmingham Hospice cares for.”
Kieron Cathcart, interim regulatory support and CPD manager at RICS, said: “As a team we decided the best way to spend our ‘Giving Back Day’ was by taking part in the Charity Championship at Birmingham Hospice. It has everything, we were looking for from a team building point of view and allowed us to give back to our local hospice charity.
“The warm and welcoming team at Birmingham Hospice told us about the amazing work they do, and how fulfilling it is to improve the quality of life for those in the local community with life-limiting illnesses.
“Throughout the day, the RICS team were inundated with donations from friends, family and colleagues, helped hugely by our colleague, Damian’s day long slog on the cross-trainer. We had such a rewarding day and were thrilled to raise £1,200! We'd thoroughly recommend the Birmingham Hospice Charity Championship to all businesses."
Although RICS raised a fantastic amount for Birmingham Hospice, IMI Truflo Marine still hold the Charity Championship crown.
Birmingham Hospice is the primary provider of adult hospice care in the city and its
