Tamworth Council hails tenant conference resounding success
Tamworth Borough Council has hailed its Tenant Conference a resounding success – providing an invaluable opportunity for tenants and leaseholders to engage directly with the council’s housing services.
The free to attend conference at the Assembly Rooms kicked off with an open exhibition, allowing attendees to speak directly with council officials and gather information about the various tenant involvement opportunities available.
This drop-in session provided residents with a chance to meet and engage with the team and partners, ask questions, and explore how they can get more involved in shaping the future of their homes and communities.
Following the exhibition, the main conference session featured presentations from key speakers including Stop Social Housing Stigma, Tpas and Goom Electrical Ltd. The talks were specially selected in collaboration with the involved tenant groups and focused on crucial issues affecting tenants and leaseholders, as well as best practices for improving services.
The council want all tenants and leaseholders to have the opportunity to shape their homes and communities. Councillor Ben Clarke, portfolio holder for housing, homelessness and planning, said: "This conference was an excellent opportunity for our tenants and leaseholders to come together, voice their opinions, and play an active role in shaping the future of housing services in Tamworth.
“Residents’ input and ideas are invaluable in helping us improve our services. We’re committed to building strong partnerships with our communities, and events like this allow us to put tenants at the heart of everything we do, in decision making, strategy and improving our housing offer to the town.
“The conference helps us work closely with our tenants to identify what really matters most to them, and where we can enhance our services to provide the best possible experience.
“Thank you to everyone who attended, we look forward to working with you to create safe and thriving neighbourhoods.”
