Texas in focus as Chapter Chat series returns
The US state of Texas is the focus of the Greater Birmingham Transatlantic Chamber 's next Chapter Chat this month.
Chapter Chat is a series of virtual events where the Transatlantic Chamber links up with other chapters in the British American Business Council network.
Texas is the United States ' second largest state in terms of GDP, behind California.
$15bn worth of goods were traded between Texas and the UK in 2019 - and $24bn including services.
These deals supported more than 52,000 UK jobs.
Four of the largest cities in the US are in Texas - Austin, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio.
Four of the top 10 fastest growing metropolitan areas in the US are also in Texas.
The Texas Chapter Chat takes place on Thursday 23 September (4pm to 5pm).
Guest speakers include Jonathan Mars (regional director, South Central USA, DIT), Lloyd Broad (head of international affairs, Birmingham City Council), Andy Bird (CEO and founder, Inoapps) and David Green and Isabelle Drinkall (The Mighty Shed).
