Tickets to a career in city PR

Birmingham-based agency spottydog communications aims to help unearth the next generation of talent by offering two aspiring university students tickets to an annual city-based PR conference.

Organised by CIPR Midlands and PRCA Midlands, the conference will include workshops, talks and short presentations by speakers including TikTok sensation and PR guru Rob Mayhew, to empower businesses, teams and individuals to grow in 2023.

The all-day event 'Growing PR in The Midlands ' will be held at Birmingham City University on Thursday 6 July.

Students interested in receiving free tickets from spottydog must submit a minute-long video to [email protected] by June 22, summarising why they would like to attend the conference.

All videos will be reviewed, and the two successful applicants will be chosen and contacted by June 29.

“We are part of a fast-paced industry, and it can be difficult for budding practitioners to get a foot in the door and that 's why we are proud to offer two students the opportunity to attend this year 's conference. ”

In addition to funding places at the conference, the communications agency has several initiatives in place to help young talent break into PR, from giving graduates the opportunity to gain real-life experience in a PR agency through Insight Week to hosting regular Open House events throughout the year to give students a glimpse behind the scenes at spottydog.

Four of the agency 's current employees joined fresh out of university through its graduate and internship programmes.
