Time is running out to apply for restart grants available via Solihull Council.

In March, the Government introduced grant support for non-essential retail, hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care and gym and sport businesses in England. This support will take the form of a one-off grant funding scheme in financial year 2021-2022 known as a Restart Grant.

The Restart Grant scheme is for businesses on the rating list only, otherwise known as businesses who pay business rates on 1 April 2021.

The amount businesses receive is defined by the Government based on the business sector.

Grants of up to £6,000 will be paid to non-essential retail business premises, to help them reopen safely.

Grants of up to £18,000 will be allocated to the hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care, gym and sports business sectors.

The Restart Grant will not be paid automatically and an online application must be made. More details of the eligibility criteria, the amount that will be paid and how to apply can be found on Solihull Council 's website https://www.solihull.gov.uk/COVID-19/Business-grants

The application closing date for this scheme is 30 June 2021.
