Together we can overcome common issues facing business - Chamber head
I have now been in post for just over three months and am already very excited to work with some amazing members in our South and East Staffordshire divisions, writes Richard Brooks.
We 're working together on a range of new initiatives, promoting business growth, bringing business together and growing our membership further to represent each unique division.
Considering the rising costs, global pressures, local societal change, and the ever-pressing subtext of ecological sustainability, we will all need a little support and guidance in 2023 and beyond.
This why I will be focusing on delivering the following initiatives, with the help of our local Chamber committees, events, campaigns, and engagement with our members.
These initiatives will develop according to each Chamber 's regional needs, and with the support, comms and guidance of the wider GBCC.
- Skills, Education, Training & Retention for the workplace
- Sustainability - what, how, why, where
- Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
- Regional Identity, Local Business Issues & Business Engagement
Through these initiatives, we can work together to overcome some of the common issues facing business, our workplace, both now and in preparation for the future.
If we haven 't met just yet, then I am sure we will in the new year so for now, have a great Christmas and let 's look forward to a hard-working but prosperous 2023!
Richard Brooks is the head of the Burton & District and Cannock Chase Chambers of Commerce
