Top law firm makes two senior promotions

A top tier Legal 500 law firm has promoted two family and private client lawyers.

Sydney Mitchell LLP, which has offices in Birmingham, Sheldon and Shirley, has promoted Gemma Whitchurch has been promoted to senior associate and Kim Hopkins to senior legal executive.

Gemma (pictured) is a family lawyer who has helped clients on all aspects of family law from divorce, finances, children matters, adoption, surrogacy, pre-nuptial agreements, cohabitation, domestic violence and emergency remedies.

During the last 12 months there have been many strains on families and Gemma has worked on numerous cases where domestic abuse is an issue. She is an ally of our LGBTQ community and has represented clients on same sex marriage/dissolution and in complex children matters.

Kim Hopkins is a key member of the Private Client team and assists clients on a wide variety of matters including the administration of estates and the preparation of Wills and Powers of Attorney.

During the pandemic, Kim helped many families through the stresses of dealing with the difficulties of losing a loved one and the added complexities encountered during lockdown.
