Top speakers lined up for South Asian Heritage event
A special event to celebrate South Asian Heritage Month and strengthen the UK 's links with the vast sub-continent region is being held in Birmingham.
Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce president elect Nasir Awan has been unveiled as one of the keynote speakers for the event, to be held at the NatWest Entrepreneur Hub in St Philip 's on Wednesday July 5 from 12.30pm to 5pm.
The Birmingham event is being organised to showcase the Midlands ' most inspirational South Asian voices, celebrating cultures, histories and communities and gaining an understanding of the diverse heritage and cultures linking the UK with the region.
Nasir Awan, who will take over as President of the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce later this year, will join fellow speakers Sarvjit Singh Pal and 'King G ' Gurcharan Mall in telling their stories and the challenges they have faced in their careers.
Pam Sheemar, regional enterprise director for NatWest Midlands and East of England, said: “I am so proud to showcase this inspiring event in our new NatWest Accelerator hub in Birmingham, celebrating South Asian Heritage Month.
“We are a proud multi-cultural city and the diversity of our city is our superpower. Our speakers have all been change-makers, entrepreneurs, creative artists and professionals. They showcase South Asian culture and positive values in many ways. ”
